This release is an outstanding showcase or Sarah Davachi's talents as a pianist, vocalist and composer. The first part of Perfume showcases her ability to find new expressions for solo piano, whilst the second adds her unique, deep-pitched expressive voice; a study in bold restraint. The final piece is the departure; an extended composition build around the interplay of two violins. No vibrato; just long notes and silence. This is a first class album. Timely, resonant and beautiful.

This dream pairing does not disappoint. If you like either, or especially if you like both artists, then you should get this... Now, it makes me imagine other ambient pairings--like, what if Gaussian Curve hooked up with Colleen? (Seriously, imagine her running their improvisations through her Moogerfoogers, and adding on her boutique synth lines on top. I never thought this combo would have happened, in the first place, so now I'm dreaming about other possible dream ambient combos too.)
